Sarah nominated Elaine for an NHS Heroes award she said Elaine is an "unsung hero". Sarah described Elaine as not being afraid to get her hands dirty and that after giving birth Elaine cared for Sarah personally all day by bathing her baby son, sorting meals and providing personal support. Sarah also said: "Elaine is a star and we should shout about our stars more often."
Elaine was thrilled to receive the award.
Anne Holt, who presented Elaine with her certificate said: "I am very proud Elaine has received this award and she truly deserves it, she works tirelessly to provide excellent care for her patients and is a positive role model for other staff."
