Alcohol Services

What We Do

CASThe community alcohol service is based centrally at Belmont in Durham and provides services in local areas across County Durham. Staff from a range of partner organisations are fully integrated in delivery teams. These include staff from;

  • NECA (North East Counselling on Addictions)
  • DISC (Developing Initiatives Supporting Communities)
  • Probation
  • Social Care & Health (Durham County Council)


Our team of dedicated specialist clinical and non-clinical staff are here to help people maintain a reduction of alcohol misuse or abstinence and offer:

  •  Help, advice and information around alcohol misuse
  •  Alcohol assessment
  •  Appropriate treatment interventions
  •  Assessment for residential rehabilitation
  •  Relapse prevention
  •  Aftercare and support
  •  Support into employment
  •  Specialist day care facilities for older drinkers
  •  Group work
  •  Referral for carers assessment
  •  Outreach services


Our early intervention team offer support to those accessing treatment that have dependent children.

Our service is delivered within a variety of settings within each locality ensuring that services are accessible to our client group.
