The Division provides an array of clinical support services to the Trust and other third parties. Being led by Stuart Dabner, Clinical Director and Tracey Hardy, Divisional Manager, CSS has five Directorates as follows:
This Directorate provides comprehensive anaesthetic and intensive care support along with acute and chronic pain services.

Provides a comprehensive service to both the Acute Trust and Primary Care.
Lead Clinician - John Sloss Service Manager- Bob Woods
the Directorate comprises Physiotherapy, Clinical Psychology, Dietetics & Nutrition, Medical Illustration and Orthotics.
With the exception of Medical Illustration, these services are predominantly delivered at Darlington Memorial Hospital and Bishop Auckland Hospital whilst the Primary Care Trust currently manage these services at University Hospital Of North Durham and Shotley Bridge Community Hospital.

Along with the above five Directorates, the Division also provides Immunology Services.
The clinical practice of Immunology includes clinical and laboratory activity dealing with the study diagnosis and management of allergic conditions, autoimmune diseases and immunodeficiency problems.
An outpatient service is offered at University Hospital of North Durham
