Diabetes & Endocrinology

glucose testingWe offer comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and day care services for Diabetes and Endocrinology from three main sites: Bishop Auckland General HospitalDarlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham.

Our aim is to treat patients as close to home as possible therefore we offer services at: Barnard Castle, Sedgefield, Chester le Street and Shotley Bridge community hospitals.

Our consultant led service also has dedicated clinical nurse specialists, additional specialist nursing support and therapies to provide a patient focused treatment programme including education and self-management.

Patient support is also provided via a dedicated specialist nurse led telephone helpline.

We work with dieticians and podiatrists who are specialised in the care of patients with diabetes and endocrinology associated disorders.
