The Audiology service provides a comprehensive adult and paediatric service covering hearing testing, hearing aid issue, balance testing, hearing therapy,  tinnitus services and bone anchored hearing aids.

The service provides open access and booked appointment NHS hearing aid repair sessions across the week at several hospital sites including Shotley Bridge, Chester-le-Street Durham, Darlington, Barnard Castle and Bishop Auckland.

We offer a direct access NHS hearing aid issue service for anyone aged 18 years and over via a GP referral. All patients are assessed within 6 weeks and will have their hearing aid issued within a further 12 weeks.
