Concerns and complaints

We are continually striving to improve the quality of care that we provide and therefore we are always interested to hear your views and feedback.

To enable us to constantly improve we value feedback on your experience of our services, positive or negative.

We aim to provide a high quality service at all times, however we do appreciate that there are times when things do not go according to plan or we do not meet the expectations of our patients and / or their relatives.

On those occasions when we have failed to provide a positive patient experience, it is important that we are able to reflect on this and learn for the future.

We would always hope to resolve issues at the time they arise, therefore you can always ask to speak with the ward or department manager.

If the ward or department manager is not available, you can contact a member of the Patient Experience Team (contact details below), who will attempt to resolve your concerns and /or will liaise with the relevant department on your behalf.

Information about the Complaints procedure is available in the Complaints and Concerns leaflet. An easy read version of this leaflet is also available.

You can send your complaint in writing to the Patient Experience Team at the address below:

You said... Why did I have to walk further down the ward to have photographs taken when visiting for an eye appointment. My appointment was delayed but I was given no information about this.

We did...To help with the smooth running of the clinic, supportive equipment has been moved to the front of the deptartment so that patients do not need to walk a distance to see the photographer. New information boards have been ordered to display any delays and currently the nursing staff are displaying the number of clinics taking place in the department with any delays highlighted.
