We included below a list of some of the main things you might need to bring with you when you come into hospital. There may of course be other items not listed, that you feel you will need to bring with you.

If you have any queries about what to bring with you then contact the ward and one of the staff will be happy to advise you.

• Toiletries and towels - please do not bring aerosols with you, as aerosols tend to trigger the sensitive smoke alarms.
• Clothing - daywear, nightwear and slippers or shoes - please ask a relative or friend to take care of your laundry, as a personal laundry service is not available.
• Money and valuables - you may wish to bring a small amount of money for telephone calls, TV cards and newspapers etc. Please do not bring anything valuable. The hospital cannot accept any responsibility for your valuables or other property.
• Something to occupy your time - for example something to read, knitting etc.
• Medication - if you are currently taking any prescribed medication, please bring them with you in the original container. We have a 'green bag' scheme to assist you with this. You can pick up a green bag from your doctors surgery or from the A&E & outpatient deaprtments in our hospitals which is designed to hold your medication and assist the medical staff treating you.
• Assistive aids - for example hearing aids, glasses, other visual aids, false teeth.

Advanced Directives (Living Wills)

If you have a Living Will or Advance Directive, that you would like us to be aware of, please bring this to the attention of the staff when you are admitted. Please bring a copy of the document with you which can be placed in your case notes.
