Working for Us

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust provides acute hospital services to 520,000 people in County Durham and Darlington. The Trust was formed in 2002 to help our acute hospitals to work together effectively to provide modern, sustainable hospital services and to improve access and choice for local people. The Trust has around 5,400 staff and 1,500 beds.

All our employees are strong team workers highly committed to achieving our healthcare objectives and improving the patient experience. This means we have a wealth of opportunities for people to join us at all levels.

Imagine you're the patient - that's the simplest way to explain our approach to healthcare. We place the individual at the centre of everything we do, not just their condition and treatment. This means listening to what people have to say, recognising their needs and responding appropriately.

As a forward-looking Trust, we're committed to continuous improvement and you'll be able to share your ideas with us. Here we value everyone's opinion - if you have a suggestion on how we can improve our services then we welcome it. We all have a part to play. Truly this is a place where ambitions are being realised everyday.
