Welcome to our Library and Information Services

Our aim is to enable the delivery of evidence based practice patient care through the provision of a high quality and responsive library and information service supporting all staff.

We provide a service to CDDFT staff and to NHS employees working in Primary Care and Public Health in County Durham, Darlington and Tees Valley. We also provide a service to students on placement with the Trust and to direct employees of NHS North East under the terms of the Service Level Agreement in place.

Our libraries support you in the work that you do, in your learning and development and any research activities that you may undertake.

Here's a quick overview of what you can expect when you register to use our service:

• A combined stock of over 13,000 books and journals covering medical, nursing and other healthcare related disciplines including a broad range of management, leadership, public health and related texts.
• Comfortable seating and desk space providing you with a quiet, relaxing environment in which to study and learn.
• Dedicated IT facilities - giving you the advantage of on site computer access for literature searching and assignment preparation etc.
• Access to NHS Evidence healthcare databases e.g. Medline, Cinahl etc and thousands of full text journal articles - all available to you from work and from home 24 hours a day.
•  Current Awareness & Alerting Services - keeping you up to date with the latest information that's relevant to your area of work.

Registering to use our service couldn't be easier, simply complete a Registration Form and return it to us. Once registered, we'll send you a library membership card along with a welcome pack explaining all about the services and resources that are available to you.

Our libraries are located within the Education Centres at Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. Call in and see us or feel free to contact us by phone, fax or email if that's more convenient for you.
