Dr Kirsty Yates

Consultant in Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics

Dr Yates has worked in paediatrics in the North East since 1999, predominantly at the RVI (Great North Children's Hospital). During her training, she spent additional time gaining experience in child psychiatry and adolescent health. She is dual accredited in both community child health and general paediatrics and took up a consultant post with the Trust in March 2012. 

Dr Yates works part time in North Durham and with bases at Stanley Primary Care Centre and Chester-le-Street Community Hospital. She provides assessments and outpatient consultations for children and young people with concerns about their development working as part of a multidisciplinary team. A predominant part of her her work is in the multi-agency assessment of possible autism spectrum condtions.
