I completed my basic surgical training in Scotland. From July
1996 until February 2002 I worked in Wales as specialist registrar
in both general and vascular surgery. I then spent a year as a
fellow in vascular and transplant surgery at the Princess Alexandra
Hospital in Brisbane, Australia and lecturer in vascular surgery at
the University of Queensland.
On return from Australia I resumed my post as specialist registrar
in vascular surgery at Morriston Hospital in Swansea before my
recent appointment as consulting surgeon in vascular and general
surgery at the University Hospital of North Durham.
I currently have a busy general, thyroid and vascular surgical
