Clinical Support Services (CSS)


This Directorate provides comprehensive anaesthetic and intensive care support along with acute and chronic pain services.



Provides a Trust-wide diagnostic imaging service





the Directorate comprises Physiotherapy, Dietetics & Nutrition, Medical Illustration and Orthotics.

With the exception of Medical Illustration, these services are predominantly delivered at Darlington Memorial Hospital and Bishop Auckland Hospital whilst the CCG currently manage these services at University Hospital Of North Durham and Shotley Bridge Community Hospital.




The clinical practice of Immunology includes clinical and laboratory activity dealing with the study diagnosis and management of allergic conditions, autoimmune diseases and immunodeficiency problems.

An outpatient service is offered at University Hospital of North Durham
