County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust together launched
"The Great North Children's Hospital at County Durham and
Darlington NHS Foundation Trust", linking services between The
Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle and children's
services at Bishop Auckland Darlington Memorial and University
Hospital of North Durham.
These links include:
Referral of Durham and Darlington children to the Great North
Children's Hospital for specialist care.
Consultants from the Great North Children's Hospital who hold
specialist clinics in Durham and Darlington Hospitals Durham and
Consultants who are working part time at the Great North
Children's Hospital to develop their special interests.
Staff at both trusts believe that they can build further on
these beneficial links to improve the quality of care provided for
children in the North East.
'As I was very, very nervous, I must have been the worst patient
ever and they were brilliant with me and I can't thank them enough
- could you please pass on my sincere thanks.'
