Early Pregnancy Assessment

Early pregnancy assessment is offered at Bishop Auckland Hospital (BAH), Darlington Memorial Hospital (DMH) and University Hospital of North Durham (UHND).

It is offered at DMH and UHND Monday - Friday, and BAH Monday - Thursday.

It is available to ladies who are 6 - 14 weeks pregnant with unexplained abdominal pain or bleeding.

You must be referred by a health care professional eg GP/midwife.

If you have had a previous ectopic pregnancy or 3 consecutive miscarriages, with the same partner, you can refer yourself.

'I have to compliment everyone on their pleasant persona and their expertise and knowledge. By the end of the 5 days, I did not feel as though I had been in a hospital ward and was very relaxed.'
