How should I prepare for my appointment?

We ask that you don't pass urine for 2 hours prior to your appointment so that any tests you may have give the most accurate results.

If you would like to have the contraceptive injection or the contraceptive implant fitted, we will ask you when your last period was and when you last had sex.  We may not be able to give you either of these methods if you have had sex without using a condom in the 3 weeks prior to your attendance.

We will also assess your risk of pregnancy if you would like to have a contraceptive coil either fitted or removed.

If you are a new patient, we may complete you registration details over the phone when you book your appointment or we may ask you to complete the form in clinic.

'In recent times, I have utilised admissions to Richardson for respite direct from my fracture clinic, even at weekends. I have never worked anywhere with this efficiency before - it is reassuring and invaluable for the patient.'
