Energy and sustainability

The Trust has a key role to play in reducing our carbon emissions and supporting local community to adapt to climate change.

Whether you're a patient or a visitor to one of hospitals, or a member of staff, you can help minimise our impact on the environment by:

  • Recycle waste where possible, we have recycling bins in our restaurants
  • Switch off televisions screens when beds are not in use
  • Ensure taps and lights are switched off when leaving rooms
  • Report any faults to nursing staff, who will report them to our helpdesk.

Our aim is to reduce the negative impact on the environment by managing energy use and reducing waste by switching to other sources of energy, improving recycling facilities or using fewer disposable items.

'I am writing to congratulate you on your wonderful staff you have working for you at DMH.'
