Receipt and Distribution

Welcome to the Receipt & Distribution (Stores) Web Page. 

The purpose of Receipt and Distribution is to ensure that goods ordered by the Trust are received into a central point in order that correct procedures / standards are carried out regarding the receipting and distribution function.

 

RDU staff are responsible for the receipt and custody of goods delivered into the RDU prior to their onward redistribution by portering and transport staff to all wards / departments and other NHS sites. Goods are received from Suppliers at the Trusts two main delivery sites, Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham.   

Goods are checked against Supplier's delivery notes to ensure correct products / quantities and quality are received. Once checked, the order is receipted electronically on Cardea. Goods receipt notes are produced and attached to goods prior to onward redistribution. Delivery to wards / departments and other NHS sites is the responsibility of portering / transport staff at DMH and PFI staff at UHND.
