Recognising the invaluable contribution unpaid carers make every day
Carers Week (9-15 June 2025) is a national celebration recognising the invaluable contribution unpaid carers make every day.
Across County Durham and Darlington, we’re saying a heartfelt thank you to carers and inviting them to take a well-earned break with us.
In partnership with Durham & Darlington Carers Support, we’re hosting a series of relaxed drop-in events at our hospital sites.
Whether you’re a carer yourself or simply want to learn more, come along for a friendly chat, a cuppa, and the chance to find out what support is available.
Join us for a cuppa and a chat
- 9am – 2pm in Hollie’s Restaurant, Darlington Memorial Hospital
- 1pm – 4pm outside Saffrey’s Restaurant, University Hospital of North Durham
- 9am – 2pm in Chimney’s Restaurant, Bishop Auckland Hospital
- 1pm – 4pm outside Saffrey’s Restaurant, University Hospital of North Durham
These events are a chance to connect, share experiences, and access practical information about the help available to carers whether you're new to caring or have been supporting someone for years.
Carers Week is all about recognising the vital role carers play in our communities, and ensuring they feel seen, supported, and valued. We hope you can join us.
