The Clinical Simulation Centre was honoured to host Trust Chairman Professor Richard Scothon during a recent ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) Simulation Course, a cutting-edge programme designed to prepare healthcare professionals for the complexities of emergency ENT care.

The one-day course, led by seasoned clinicians, focused on enhancing both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills through high-fidelity simulation scenarios.

Participants were immersed in lifelike situations covering:

  • Acute Airway Obstruction

  • Tracheostomy Emergencies

  • Surgical Techniques

  • Major Haemorrhage

Each scenario was crafted to reflect the realities of high-risk, high-pressure clinical environments, encouraging real-time decision-making and collaboration.

Alongside the primary simulations, parallel sessions offered invaluable opportunities to strengthen communication skills and gain familiarity with specialist ENT equipment.

This multi-faceted approach deepened participant understanding and promoted a well-rounded, patient-centred perspective.

The Chairman's visit underscored the vital role simulation plays in modern medical education, reinforcing the Centre’s mission to improve clinical outcomes through innovation and immersive learning.
