As we step into 2025, we would like to say ‘thank you’ for the extraordinary efforts of every colleague across CDDFT over the Christmas and New Year period. The festive season brought with it immense pressures, yet once again, the strength of our team spirit and unwavering commitment to patient care shone through. It was especially heart-warming to see so many of you using the staff Facebook group to share warm wishes, fostering a sense of togetherness even during such a busy time.

2024 was a year filled with both challenges and significant achievements. The collective dedication and innovation demonstrated by teams across the Trust have been truly inspiring. We were delighted to see the improvements introduced as part of ‘our year of quality’, in services locally, as well as more broadly through initiatives like the work to improve patient safety and experience by improved patient flow.

Research and innovation also remained strong themes throughout the year. Our collaborations with local universities and businesses ensured that our communities benefited from the latest technologies and treatments, exemplifying our commitment to staying at the forefront of healthcare developments. Despite growing demands on services, our performance compared favourably both regionally and nationally - a testament to your resilience and professionalism.

Looking ahead, we know that 2025 will bring its own set of challenges, particularly in managing increasing demand and navigating financial constraints. However, we are confident that, as always, together we will rise to the occasion, continuing to prioritise the best outcomes for our patients and communities.
