Sexual Health Services

Welcome to County Durham and Darlington Sexual Health Services

We provide innovative services, delivered by a committed, highly skilled workforce to achieve standards of excellence in sexual health.  Our team includes health advisors, doctors, sexual health nurses and support staff who are friendly, non-judgmental and will be happy to advise on any matters related to sexual health.

Our services are free, confidential and open to people of all ages (including under 16s).

From the end of December 2015 the sexual health service at Park Place in Darlington will no longer be available. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but you can still access contraception and sexual health services at:

  • Your family doctor (G.P.)
  • Drop in session - Darlington College Monday and Friday 9am-12pm (staff and students only). Open term time only. Confidential drop-in clinic for information and advice on general and sexual health, including contraception, emergency contraception, screening for chlamydia and other sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy testing and referral to the Department of Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) and termination of pregnancy services.
  • Drop in session - Dolphin Centre Monday 12.30-2.30pm (under 25s only). Confidential drop-in clinic for information and advice on general and sexual health including contraception, emergency contraception, screening for chlamydia and other sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy testing and referral to GUM and termination of pregnancy services.

For advice on Chlamydia Screening contact the Peterlee Health Centre Central Office on 0191 518 0557 Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.  If you are aged between 16 and 24 years you can click here for a postal Chlamydia pack
