All 18 students supported by County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT) with industry placements over the past 12 months have successfully completed their two-year T Level qualifications.
The Trust is proud to support the next generation of healthcare professionals through T Level industry placements, giving students the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience alongside their classroom learning.
T Levels are two-year qualifications designed to prepare young people for the workplace or further study. At CDDFT, students have been able to gain an insight into a range of NHS careers, working alongside experienced healthcare professionals and developing skills and knowledge in a real-world healthcare environment.
Following T Level results day last week, the Trust was delighted to hear from partner colleges that all 18 students who completed their industry placements with CDDFT had successfully passed their qualifications.
The achievement marks an important milestone for the students, with several now progressing to further study in a range of healthcare professions.
Some of the Health T Level students will continue their education in Paramedic Science, Paramedic Practice, Occupational Therapy, Adult Nursing and Physiotherapy, studying at Northumbria University, Teesside University and the University of Sunderland.
Other students are continuing their education at college, while two will be joining CDDFT as Healthcare Assistants. Some are still considering their next steps as they decide which career pathway is right for them.
The industry placements have provided students with the opportunity to experience NHS careers first-hand, develop their confidence and skills, and gain an understanding of what it is like to work as part of a healthcare team.
Nikki Brodhurst, Widening Participation Ambassador at CDDFT, said: “Congratulations to all of the students on their achievements, and thank you to colleagues for all of the support and learning opportunities you gave the students whilst on placement with your teams.”
CDDFT is committed to supporting young people and widening access to careers in the NHS. By providing meaningful work experience and industry placements, the Trust is helping students to develop the skills and confidence they need to take their next steps into healthcare.
We look forward to continuing our work with local colleges to support students in the new academic year, and wish all 18 students every success as they continue their education and careers.
