County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDF) is delighted to confirm the appointment of Kelly Angus as Deputy Chief Executive at the Trust.
Kelly joins CDDFT from North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, where she has been supporting the Trust as Interim Chief People Officer while a substantive appointment is made.
Kelly joined North Cumbria on a six-month secondment from the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, where she has held the role of Chief People Officer.
Until October 2025, she was also part of NHS England’s North East and Yorkshire regional team, serving as Director of Workforce, Training and Education.
Kelly brings significant senior leadership experience across health and local government.
Her previous roles include Deputy Chief Executive and Acting Chief Executive at Northumberland County Council, Deputy Director of HR at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, and regional and national roles within NHS England.
With North Cumbria due to make a substantive appointment shortly, Kelly will join CDDFT at the start of April. The Trust is looking forward to welcoming her to the team.
Speaking on her appointment, Kelly said: “I’m really pleased to be joining CDDFT at this time. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the organisation and with our partners to support our teams and continue to strengthen the care and services we provide.
"I believe strongly in collaborative leadership and in creating the right conditions for people to do their best work and I’m excited to get started.”
