On Thursday 8 May, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust proudly marked National Day for Staff Networks – a day dedicated to recognising and celebrating the vital contribution of staff networks and the people behind them.

Staff networks play a key role in shaping a more inclusive, supportive, and connected workplace. At CDDFT, our staff network groups are led by staff, for staff – offering safe spaces, building a sense of community, and driving positive change across the organisation.

Whether it’s supporting colleagues from diverse backgrounds, raising awareness of lived experiences, or influencing policy and practice, our networks help ensure that everyone across #TeamCDDFT feels heard, valued, and empowered to thrive at work.

CDDFT is proud to support four active staff network groups, which are open to colleagues from underrepresented groups as well as their allies:

  • Faith Staff Network Group

  • Disability and Long-Term Conditions Staff Network Group

  • LGBTQ+ Staff Network Group

  • Unity and Ethnic Diversity Staff Network Group

These networks are making a real difference — and everyone is welcome to get involved.

Together, we are creating a stronger, more inclusive workplace for all.
