Trust Chairman Professor Richard Scothon recently marked a special moment in the Trust’s growing relationship with international partners by handing over a research book gifted to County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust by Teikyo University.
The book, titled The Healthy Hospital, explores global perspectives on hospital environments that promote wellbeing for patients, staff, and communities.
Teikyo University, which has a campus based in Durham City, is renowned not only for training future medical professionals but also for its innovative research on a global scale.
Their work spans a wide range of healthcare topics, with a strong emphasis on improving hospital settings and the patient experience through evidence-based approaches.
The Chairman was proud to officially present the book to the Trust on behalf of Teikyo University, highlighting the value of international collaboration and knowledge-sharing in shaping the future of healthcare.
This gesture symbolises the continued partnership between the Trust and Teikyo University, reinforcing shared values around learning, innovation, and creating environments where both patients and healthcare professionals can thrive.
The book will be made available to colleagues across the Trust, offering valuable insights and sparking ideas as we continue our own journey towards creating a healthier, more supportive hospital environment.
