Last week, Professor Richard Scothon, Chairman of the Trust, visited University Hospital of North Durham to show his support for the Chaplains and their invaluable work with staff, patients, and families.
As winter settles in, the hospital chapel continues to provide a peaceful haven open 24/7 for anyone seeking a quiet space.
The Chaplains are always on hand to offer support, encouragement, and prayerful companionship to staff navigating the demands of a busy hospital environment.
With the Advent and Christmas seasons approaching, bringing both joys and challenges, the chapel and Chaplains remain a vital resource for the entire hospital community.
Professor Scothon also visited Treetops, the children's ward at University Hospital of North Durham, where staff have recently completed outstanding work for patients and their families.
Praising their efforts, he said: “Their dedication to helping children and young people is exemplary, and I want to personally thank staff for their amazing commitment.”
The visit highlighted the exceptional care and compassion shown by teams across the hospital, demonstrating the Trust’s commitment to supporting both its workforce and the communities it serves.
