Patients living with and beyond colorectal cancer have been benefiting from a new support group, providing an opportunity to meet others, share experiences and access peer support.
The third session took place on Friday 11 September at University Hospital of North Durham, with patients enjoying an informal and supportive space over a hot drink.
The group also welcomed guest speaker Liz Tallon from the University Hospital of North Durham Macmillan Support Centre, who provided information about the support available to patients.
The group was established following feedback from patients who asked for an opportunity to connect with others who have had similar experiences.
The three sessions held so far have received positive feedback, with patients enjoying the opportunity to meet and support one another.
The Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist team is looking forward to welcoming patients to the next session, which will take place just before Christmas.
