Last Thursday marked a fantastic milestone at our Trust – the very first Bring Your Child to Work Day.
Nearly sixty students were welcomed through our doors for an exciting, hands-on opportunity to explore the vast range of careers available within the NHS.
The day was a whirlwind of inspiration and energy, offering a mix of interactive activities and informative talks.
Students rotated through a series of stations hosted by teams across the organisation, including:
-
Medical Education
-
Estates & Facilities
-
Decontamination
-
Clinical Engineering
-
Radiology
-
Procurement
-
Operating Department Practitioners
-
Virtual Reality
-
Admin
-
Finance
-
Clinical Psychology
-
Apprenticeships
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many students describing the day as insightful, fun, and eye-opening.
It was heartening to see the excitement and curiosity from both the young attendees and the teams hosting them.
A special thank you goes to everyone who made this day a resounding success, particularly to Nikki Brodhurst (Widening Participation Ambassador) for bringing the event to life, and Mike Dann (Library and Learning Centres Manager) for expertly coordinating everything on the day.
Events like these are invaluable in sparking curiosity and showcasing the diverse, meaningful roles available within healthcare.
We can’t wait to host the next Bring Your Child to Work Day and inspire even more young minds to consider a career in the NHS.
