Colleagues on the Stroke Rehab Unit at Bishop Auckland Hospital have received a generous donation of new therapy equipment, following a local fundraiser held earlier this year.

The event, which took place on Saturday 21 February, raised almost £5,000. The money has been used to purchase a wide range of equipment to support patients during their rehabilitation.

Donation BAH.pngItems donated include a U-step walker, BlazePods with one-year rehab content subscription, an Android tablet to support therapy apps, a Saebo mirror box for mirror therapy, balance and strengthening equipment and hand therapy resources.

Donations also included dementia-friendly jigsaws, fans for the therapy gym, sports tape and stroke tables to support safe posture and upper limb rehabilitation.

The equipment will help colleagues provide a wider range of therapy activities and support patients with mobility, balance, cognition, upper limb recovery and overall rehabilitation.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in the fundraiser for their generosity and support.

Donations like this make a real difference to patients and staff across our services.
