The Trust is celebrating after being recognised as part of the team behind the first-ever County Durham Public Sector Careers Fair, which was awarded Highly Commended at the prestigious 2026 MJ Awards.

Held in November 2025, the careers fair brought together six public sector organisations to showcase the wide range of career opportunities available across County Durham, helping to inspire local people and strengthen future workforce pipelines.

The project was shortlisted in the Workforce Optimisation category, alongside organisations from across the UK, with the winners announced at the MJ Awards ceremony on 19 June.

The MJ Awards recognise outstanding achievement and innovation in local government, celebrating projects that make a positive difference to communities.

Nikki Brodhurst, Widening Participation Ambassador at CDDFT, attended the awards as part of the partnership team.

Speaking after the event, Nikki said: "It was a real honour to attend the awards alongside colleagues from Durham County Council who helped turn the idea into such a successful event. We're delighted that the partnership received Highly Commended recognition for bringing together six public sector organisations to engage our communities, support local talent and showcase the fantastic career opportunities available across County Durham."

The Trust would like to thank all colleagues who supported the careers fair and helped make the event such a success.
