Throughout October, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT) was delighted to host a series of three Hospital Open Day Tours.
The programme began at Darlington Memorial Hospital, continued at University Hospital of North Durham, and concluded at Bishop Auckland Hospital.
Each event welcomed a diverse group of attendees, including Trust governors, staff members, local residents, and representatives from a range of regional businesses.
The tours offered an excellent opportunity for guests to gain a deeper understanding of the work undertaken across CDDFT’s hospital sites and to strengthen connections between the Trust and the wider community.
Visitors were guided through a number of key departments at each hospital, where they met some of CDDFT’s dedicated and highly skilled teams.
Staff kindly provided overviews of their departments’ roles, day-to-day operations, and recent achievements, giving guests a valuable behind-the-scenes look at how high-quality healthcare services are delivered across the organisation.
Feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the tours as informative, engaging, and inspiring.
The events not only showcased the professionalism and commitment of Trust colleagues but also highlighted CDDFT’s ongoing dedication to transparency, collaboration, and patient care.
The Trust extends sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of these events — including the staff who supported the tours, governors for their active involvement, and all guests who took the time to attend and express their interest in the work of CDDFT.
