The Joining the Dots team proudly represented County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust at the North East and Yorkshire Macmillan Professionals Conference 2026, joining around 90 Macmillan professionals from across the region to share learning, celebrate innovation and strengthen partnerships.

During the conference, the team showcased the work of the Joining the Dots service, listened to inspiring stories from people living with and beyond cancer, and connected with colleagues from organisations supporting people affected by cancer across the North East and Yorkshire.

The team also contributed to the Northern Cancer Alliance workshop, Living with and Beyond Cancer: Measuring the Impact, highlighting the collaborative work undertaken with veterans in County Durham to improve support for people living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.

Adding to the success of the day, the team's A0 poster, showcasing the Joining the Dots service and its impact, was recognised in the conference poster competition, earning an impressive third place.

The team said:"It was a fantastic opportunity to share the work of Joining the Dots, learn from colleagues across the region and hear first-hand about people's experiences of living with and beyond cancer. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and found it incredibly valuable to network with other services supporting people affected by cancer."

Congratulations to the Joining the Dots team on this well-deserved recognition and for continuing to champion collaborative, person-centred cancer care across our region.
