A new food and drink kiosk has officially opened inside the Emergency Department at University Hospital of North Durham (UHND), provided by Synchronicity Care Limited (SCL) and offering a convenient grab-and-go service for patients, visitors, and staff.
Open seven days a week from 10am–6pm, the kiosk offers a wide range of refreshments including sandwiches, paninis, wraps, fruit, crisps, and a selection of hot and cold drinks. Existing hot drink loyalty cards can still be used.
The kiosk has been created following extensive improvement work to develop a modern and welcoming space, helping to improve the experience for everyone using the hospital.
The new facility is part of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust’s ongoing commitment to investing in its sites and enhancing the services available to staff, patients, and visitors.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrated the official opening on Tuesday 18 November, with members of the Estates and Facilities teams joining colleagues from across the Trust to mark the occasion.
