To help support safer and more appropriate parking for patients, visitors and staff at Shotley Bridge Community Hospital, NHS Property Services has installed Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology.
The main car parks are not affected and remain free.
The ANPR system has been introduced to encourage people visiting the hospital to use the designated on-site car parks, which are free of charge, rather than parking on the road.
Parking on surrounding roads, particularly where double yellow lines are in place, can cause safety issues and access problems for emergency vehicles, hospital transport and local residents. Keeping this areas clear helps ensure safe access to the hospital site at all times.
Visitors are reminded that:
- Shotley Bridge Community Hospital car parks are free to use
- Please park in marked bays within the designated car parks
- Please don’t not park on the double yellow lines
- Keeping access routes clear helps ensure ambulances and emergency services can reach the hospital quickly
We thank patients, visitors and the local community for their cooperation in helping keep the hospital site safe and accessible.
