We are proud to share that Helen Frankland, Nurse Associate in Occupational Health, has won the “Growing Our Own” category in the 2025 NHS Health at Work Recognition Awards (OHPRAS).
Helen’s journey is an inspiring example of growth and development within the Trust. She first joined Occupational Health as a Medical Secretary, later trained as a Healthcare Assistant, and most recently completed her Nurse Associate qualification.
The award application highlighted the creation of the Nurse Associate role within our Occupational Health team – designed to harness Helen’s diverse skills and experience while strengthening the service we provide.
The role has become a crucial link between Nurse Assistants and Qualified Nurses, with a particular focus on:
-
Streamlining pre-employment processes
-
Supporting international recruitment and large-scale recruitment campaigns
-
Enhancing efficiency while ensuring high-quality care and support for staff
This innovative role not only benefits the team and the Trust, but also reflects our commitment to investing in our people and supporting career progression within Occupational Health.
The award was presented to Dr Leeds OHP at the recent NHS Health at Work Network Conference, where the success was celebrated among national peers. The Occupational Health team also marked the achievement during their team brief.
Congratulations to Helen and the entire Occupational Health team on this well-deserved recognition.
