Essential tree maintenance works will be carried out at Darlington Memorial Hospital on Sunday 26 July 2026, between 8am and 5pm.

The works will take place along the hospital boundary adjacent to Hollyhurst Road and include pruning overhanging branches, removing dead trees where necessary, and planting replacement trees.

All works have been approved by Darlington Borough Council under the relevant Tree Preservation Order requirements.

To enable the work to be completed safely, temporary four-way traffic signals will be in place on Hollyhurst Road throughout the day.

Patients, visitors and staff are advised to allow extra time when travelling to and from the hospital, as some delays may be experienced while the traffic management is in place.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.

Residents living nearby have been notified in advance of the works, and alternative parking arrangements have been made to help minimise disruption.

We apologise for any temporary inconvenience and appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while these important safety works are completed.
