Congratulations to Dr Rajesh Balu, Consultant Paediatrician, who recently delivered an outstanding teaching session at a Protected Learning Time event organised by the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board on Thursday 18 September.
The session, held at Durham Cricket Ground, brought together around 180 GPs and 15 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, reflecting the strong interest in paediatric expertise across primary care.
Dr Balu provided practical guidance on a range of common paediatric queries, referral pathways and red-flag symptoms, sparking excellent engagement and discussion.
Feedback has been extremely positive, with participants describing the session as “excellent and engaging,” and many requesting access to slides to share more widely.
This event highlights the value of collaborative working between primary and secondary care to improve outcomes for children and young people across our region.
Well done and thank you to Dr Balu for representing the Trust so positively and for his contribution to education and partnership working.
