Professional Advocates from across County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust came together on 5 October for the Trust’s first Professional Advocates Workshop.

The event provided an opportunity for colleagues from different areas of the Trust to learn, network and share best practice, supporting the continued development of professional advocacy.

The workshop was officially opened by Chief Nurse Gill Hunt, followed by a national and regional update from Eileen Aylott, North East and Yorkshire Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA) advisor.

Colleagues also heard from Rebecca Smith and Claire Glenville from NHS Humber Health Partnership NHS Trust, who delivered engaging sessions on restorative supervision and a service improvement project.

The workshop offered a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, explore approaches to improving services and strengthen connections between Professional Advocates across the Trust.

Jane Carr, Matron for Practice Education and Development, thanked all the speakers and attendees for their contributions to making the inaugural workshop a success.
