The Safeguarding Team is proud to be delivering the Reasonable Adjustment Roadshow across County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, helping to raise awareness of the importance of making reasonable adjustments for patients and staff.
So far, the roadshow has received a warm welcome at Richardson Community Hospital, Weardale Community Hospital, and University Hospital of North Durham with more visits planned over the coming weeks:
-
Bishop Auckland Hospital – Monday 6 May
-
Shotley Bridge Hospital – Friday 16 May
Further dates and locations will be shared soon.
What Are Reasonable Adjustments?
Reasonable adjustments are changes we can make to remove or reduce disadvantages experienced by patients or colleagues with disabilities, long-term conditions, or other access needs.
These adjustments may include:
-
Finding alternative ways of doing tasks
-
Changing working arrangements
-
Making modifications to the physical environment
-
Providing additional equipment, services, or support
The roadshow is an opportunity to engage with teams, share good practice, and offer advice on how we can collectively create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.
