Delivered by County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, the Darlington Stop Smoking Service consists of three Stop Smoking Advisers and a Service Manager who work across different areas of the community, bringing support directly to local people and making the service more accessible.
The team also works alongside the Paediatric Asthma Nurse at Darlington Memorial Hospital, attending sessions to provide stop-smoking advice and support to parents and young people aged 12 and over who want to quit smoking.
The service provides free, confidential and personalised support to help people stop smoking.
Advisers can offer guidance on managing cravings and withdrawal, as well as information about available stop-smoking treatments and support options.
Anyone can self-refer to the service, so if you or someone you know has been thinking about stopping smoking, now is a great time to take that first step.
The team is here to provide advice, encouragement and practical support throughout the journey with an approach that works for you.
Support Is Always Available
Quitting smoking is one of the most important decisions you can make for your health and it’s never too late to start.
