On Saturday 2 May, 16-year-old Libby Ryder took part in a sponsored head shave to raise funds for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Darlington Memorial Hospital.

Tallulah was cared for in the SCBU at Darlington Memorial Hospital after being born at 33 weeks, spending 11 days in the unit. The team also provided care and support for her younger sister, Amelia, when she was born.

Wanting to give something back and support other families experiencing similar circumstances, Tallulah decided to undertake the sponsored shave in aid of the unit that cared for both her and her family.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters, Tallulah successfully raised £300 for the Special Care Baby Unit.

The fundraising contribution will help support the unit in continuing to provide specialist care and support for babies and their families.

The Special Care Baby Unit team would like to thank Tallulah, Barry’s Barbers and everyone who donated for their kindness and support.
