Trust Chairman, Professor Richard Scothon, was delighted to spend time with the community midwifery team based at Chester-le-Street Community Hospital, recognising their vital role in supporting mothers, parents, and families across the area.
During the visit, Professor Scothon heard about the team's extensive engagement across their local patch, as well as their wider collaboration and contribution across the Trust.
He was particularly impressed by the dedication shown in providing compassionate, high-quality care to women, birthing people and families at such a pivotal time in their lives.
The visit highlighted the continued importance of community midwifery in delivering safe, personalised maternity care, and ensuring positive experiences for families throughout the region.
