Last week, the Undergraduate Medical Education Team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust proudly welcomed 50 future Year 3 medical students as part of their Transition to Clinically Based Learning (TCBL) visits.
Held across both University Hospital of North Durham and Darlington Memorial Hospital, the visits offered students a first glimpse of clinical life ahead of the 2025/26 academic year.
Students took part in a range of engaging activities designed to introduce them to the hospital environment and build confidence in preparation for their clinical placements.
Highlights included hospital scavenger hunts, interactive classroom sessions, and bedside teaching within clinical areas.
Feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, with an impressive average rating of 4.6 out of 5 across both sites.
A huge thank you goes to all the clinicians and staff involved for helping to make these visits such a success. Their time, support and enthusiasm helped create a welcoming and inspiring experience for our future doctors.
