The Midwifery Senior Leadership Team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT) is delighted to announce the appointment of Jill Taylor as Deputy Head of Midwifery at the Trust.

Jill qualified as a midwife in 1994, training with Oxford Hospitals and gaining experience across a wide range of clinical areas, including both acute settings and midwife-led units.

She joined CDDFT in 2002 and has since worked in community services as well as delivering care on the labour and postnatal wards.

In 2018, Jill became a Team Leader, and in 2023 she was appointed Community Midwifery Matron, roles in which she has demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to women, birthing people, babies, and families.

Jill is passionate about the vital role midwives play in the parenting journey.

She said: “We have such an important role to play and the impact lasts a lifetime. I see and hear every day the high-quality care delivered to the women and families in our care, and am very proud to support and lead the maternity workforce in the delivery of this care.”

Looking ahead, Jill is excited to bring her wealth of experience to her new role and to continue working with the Trust’s committed and dynamic leadership team.

Please join us in congratulating Jill on her appointment as Deputy Head of Midwifery.
