We have Urgent Treatment Centres at University Hospital North Durham, Bishop Auckland Hospital, Shotley Bridge Hospital, Darlington Memorial Hospital and Peterlee Hospital.

If you are feeling unwell and need to use the service, we advise you to book an appointment first by calling 111. This will help to speed up your treatment.

Durham Urgent Treatment Centre

Open from Monday to Friday, 6pm – 8am and 24 hours on weekends and bank holidays

Provide treatment for minor injuries and minor illness such as:

  • Bites and stings
  • Minor burns and scalds
  • Minor illness, including fever, rashes or infections
  • Sprains, strains and minor breaks
  • Wound care

Bishop Auckland Urgent Treatment Centre

Open 7 days a week and provides:
Minor injuries service only, Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm 

Provide treatment such as:

  • Bites and stings
  • Minor burns and scalds
  • Sprains, strains and minor breaks
  • Wound care

and

Minor injuries and minor illness, Monday to Friday, 8pm to 8am and 24 hours on weekends and bank holidays:
  • Bites and stings
  • Minor burns and scalds
  • Minor illness, including fever, rashes or infections
  • Sprains, strains and minor breaks
  • Wound care

Shotley Bridge Urgent Treatment Centre

Open 7 days a week, temporarily open from 8am to midnight, providing:

Treatment for minor injuries and minor illness such as:

  • Bites and stings
  • Minor burns and scalds
  • Minor illness, including fever, rashes or infections
  • Sprains, strains and minor breaks
  • Wound care

Darlington Urgent Treatment Centre

Open 24/7 and provides:

  • Minor illness, including fever, rashes or infections
  • Sprains, strains and minor breaks
  • Wound care

Peterlee Urgent Treatment Centre

Open 7 days a week and provides:
Minor injuries service only, Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm
