Cancer Experts by Experience Group
Would you like to help improve cancer care in County Durham and Darlington? You can join our Experts by Experience group.
The group is for people affected by cancer. You may have had cancer or cared for someone with cancer.
As part of the group, you can:
- Share your ideas to help improve cancer care for others
- Join friendly meetings and events where your you can share your thoughts
- Help shape leaflets, videos, and podcasts for people affected by cancer
- Work with staff to design simple, clear patient surveys to understand what matters
You can choose how much you want to take part. There are different ways to join:
- Join regular meetings online or in person
- Review information by email
- Help with specific projects
You do not need any patient group experience to join. We welcome people from all backgrounds. Your ideas and experience can help improve care for people with cancer.
5 for 5 Patient Surveys
We ask patients and staff to complete short surveys about cancer care.
The “5 for 5” survey asks 5 questions and takes about 5 minutes to complete. The surveys help us:
- Hear what people with cancer say about their care
- Find out what is working well
- Use feedback to make services better
We share the survey results with the teams who plan and provide cancer care. If you would like more information, please get in touch.
